Why Does My GFCI Outlet Keep Tripping Randomly Without Load?

A GFCI that trips with no appliance plugged in points to a ground fault on the circuit or a failing GFCI outlet. Our Denver electricians troubleshoot non-functional or burnt outlets and wiring faults, test all GFCI/AFCI devices, and recommend repair or replacement. We install GFCIs in required areas and handle permits to meet local code. Do not keep resetting a repeatedly tripping GFCI; schedule an electrical safety inspection.

  • Press Reset once to restore power.
  • If it trips again, stop using the outlet and call us.
